The Grange has been
concerned with community betterment since its inception over 140
years ago. The Grange was organized to make the community a
better place in which to live. We are still concerned with the
community and with what we as Grangers can do to make it a
better place for our neighbors and families.
It is important for
each Grange to plan and complete a community service project.
The Community Service
Program is under the direction of the New Jersey State Grange
Community Service Department. Independent judges from outside
the Grange will be used. Scores are based on criteria supplied
by the Community Service Department. The National Grange will
provide the State Grange with monetary awards and will be
receiving reports on the individual state’s accomplishments. It
is important to plan and complete a worthwhile program in your
community.
The closing date for
service projects is August 31, 2012. Reports are due to Kay Reed by September 15, 2012 and should be written in narrative
form. Please take care to follow the instructions regarding the
length of the report.
