The David H. Agans Memorial and Scholarship
Fund was established at Rutgers University by the New Jersey State Grange to provide
Scholarships in agricultural related fields at Rutgers University. The fund is
administered by Rutgers University and application should be made to Rutgers. Most
recently 4 scholarships were awarded.
New Jersey State Grange Scholarship
Loan Fund
The New Jersey State Grange Scholarship Loan
Fund was created to allow more flexibility as to the schools recipients could attend and
the education they could pursue.
To be eligible, applicants must be Grange members and agree to repay the interest-free
loans as they are able. The repayment is requested to perpetuate the principal of the Fund
to assist other Grangers with Scholarship Loans. Current Grange policy is that repayments
are requested to start within two years of graduation or leaving school. Repayment amounts
to be determined by the recipient consistent with their financial situation.
Each year the Scholarship Loan amount is set by the Executive Committee. Most recently the
loan amount was set at $2,500. In excess of 141 recipients have received loans totaling
more than $484,066.00 to date. The Scholarship Loan Fund is an extremely valuable benefit
of membership.

approval by the Executive Committee.
New Jersey State Grange
Morris Grange No. 105 Grant Fund
In 1987 Morris Grange No. 105 turned in its
charter and its assets to the New Jersey State Grange. Part of the assets turned over by
the Morris Grange was its interest in a Trust Fund. In turning over the Trust Fund assets
Morris Grange requested that the New Jersey State Grange establish a scholarship grant
fund.
On 10/31/92 the New Jersey State Grange Morris Grange No. 105 Grant Fund was created in
accordance with the directions of the New Jersey State Grange Executive Committee.
Subsequently, funds were disbursed to cover grants for the periods 1989 thru 1992. Since
1989 grants totaling $83,550.00 have been distributed for 108 recipients.
Grant amounts can range from $150 to $300, depending on the income available and the
number of applicants. Eligible to receive grants are Grange members and the children and
grandchildren of members. The Grant Fund is another valuable benefit for members and their
families.
